We are not huge football followers.  We really like to follow and cheer on our favorite college team (go Dawgs!) and Bryce will enjoy some games throughout the season but that's about it.  However, it's fun to watch the superbowl (and the commercials) and even more fun to make food to go with the superbowl!

For dinner we had chicken wings, slaw and twice baked potatoes.  I used cheese to make laces on the potatoes to resemble a football.

For dessert, I made whoopie pies in the shape of footballs.  Aren't they super cute?  They were also very tasty!

  1. Great foodie footballs. We could have used those twice-baked potatoes with our game-side treat; warm southwest salsa with lots of fresh vegetables. It was a healthy dip for corn chips, and had cheese on top. Our first experience with warm salsa.

  2. Love it! My hubby would loved it...and my kids!

  3. whoopie pies are all the rage and you sure did put a great twist on them! LOVE it!

  4. Wish I had been at your house! Yummy!

  5. I'm with you on that one--- football? what is that??? I would like FOOTBALL at your house though... I'm sure!
