Flowers, Vegetables and Friends

It's been awhile since I've done any sort of update, mainly because I just haven't taken a lot of pictures this summer.  The kids are both super busy with work (lifeguarding and coaching, an internship and catering) so they haven't been around a ton.  They both want to keep busy and make money but it does make it hard to plan family things!  At any rate, here's a rundown of the flowers, vegetables and friends so far this summer.

The garden this year, while productive, sure has had its problems!  We've had an issue with blossom end rot, drought, squash vine borers and the weeds have been beyond comprehension.  I do love cooking seasonally and with vegetables and fruits from the garden so perhaps the most disappointing thing this season is that we haven't gotten any fruit from our trees.  The late freeze we had seems to have completely done them in.  It's such a huge disappointment as we wait all year for them. 

We've also been fortunate to carve out a few days to spend time with friends including a trip to a friends camp in the Adirondacks (Bryce couldn't go because he had Covid, again.).  We've also had a few other get togethers with family, dinners with friends and some fun graduation parties.
