A Loving Cup

Earlier this spring, I went to a flower show where a vendor was selling vintage urns, silver trophies and pitchers.  I was thrilled to pick up this three handled trophy cup, which I learned is also called a Loving Cup!  The vendor told me that three handled loving cups are fairly uncommon and while I don't know if that is at all true, I do love how unique it is.

I bought it specifically with my peonies in mind since I thought the pinks would be so pretty up against the silver.  Originally, I thought I might get it re-silvered (in places the silver is literally flaking off) but for now I really like how much character the flaking and peeling gives it.
