Garage Redo

Last summer when we restored the original siding on our home we didn't give a thought to the detached garage- until we stood outside admiring the new siding and realized that our garage still had the vinyl siding and no longer matched the house color!

Thus, we have embarked on a small garage redo.  We lucked out once again with the siding because the original cedar siding was indeed under the vinyl! While we are at it, we decided to go ahead and close in the carport side and take out the middle wall.  This will give us more room to open car doors and will make it more unlucky that we will run into the wall while pulling in (when I say we, I mean me).

We are also cutting a door into the side of the garage.  Hopefully, this will make it more convenient to get bikes, toys and trash cans out.  It also helps to break up the long side of the garage.

I'll be sure to share pictures of the finished product!

  2. Very glad you will have a larger enclosed garage at last. Should make winters better and cars happier. And what a nice surprise to find some original siding. We're getting more and more anxious to see all your upgrades for ourselves!

  6. This is the dream for most people. This is a real win-win situation for the person who needs a new couch but can't afford to purchase it from a furniture store.Another benefit I really enjoy, is some of the sales representatives of some of the more popular companies have found out they can put their merchandise in the mall and it will sell rather quickly if they just price it at their companies usual sale price. Leads to: Increased Hero NeedsImproved Workers: Skill: Increases a You will have pop bubbles constantly to fill the meter.

  7. Good move on the garage revamp, Anna! We also did some adjustments on the sidings of our garage. But we did the opposite; we used a totally different color for the garage siding, a shade darker than the color of the main house’s vinyl sidings. At first, I had some hesitations on how it will look. But once it was all done, the result is stunning. I think yours looks fine too! :-)
