The Man Who Walked Between the Towers

Our children are not yet at an age where we have had to explain to them in any sort of detail the horrible events that took place on September 11, 2001. However, we have read to them a true story about the World Trade Center Towers. The Man Who Walked Between the Towers by Mordicai Gerstein tells the story of Philippe Petit and how he succeeded in walking between the Towers on a rope. The illustrations are beautiful as is the story. I think that this picture book is a nice reminder of the towers that were an important part of the city for so long and to so many people.

  1. Tight rope walkers are so amazing to me. What a great way to build background for your children for when they do find out about the Trade Center.

  2. I LOVE this book. I'm so glad someone has posted about it. :)
