The children were so excited about Christmas this year; Harris and Grace were up at 7:15 (which is the earliest ever)! Here are a few scenes from our day and a few anecdotes...
Grandma always joins us to see what Santa brought! The children love her being there and when Grace learned there was a chance this year that she might not join us, she wrote an email begging her to reconsider. Of course, she did.
Though we tweaked our breakfast a bit to suit Harris' restrictions, it was still delicious and special. I added this citrus salad to the repertoire and loved it. I think the mint sugar makes it special.
Once again, Grace made darling place cards for breakfast. That girl can craft like no one else.
Even though we weren't with Gran and Grandpa in person, Skyping while opening presents is the next best thing.
In the afternoon, we went over to my Mom's house to open more presents and have dinner with family.
I would be remiss if I didn't mention that our tree ended it's reign in the same way that it began. While going under the tree to get a present, a needle got stuck in Harris' foot! We had to stop present opening and surgically remove it with a knife and tweezers! For the first time ever, our tree came down on Christmas Day eve (we were scheduled to leave the next morning) and none of us were sad to see it go!
