The Story of a Sleigh Bell

One long ago Christmas morning, when Grace was just three years old, she spotted something shiny in the driveway as we were loading up to go to Grandma's house.  Upon further inspection it was revealed to be a sleigh bell that we could only assume had fallen from Santa's sleigh or reindeer harnesses!  The sleigh bell has turned out to be a most treasured possession that Grace loves to bring out every year.

Grace recently commented that it would be pretty if she had a display case for her bell.  After thinking about it for a bit, I figured we could make one fairly easily using my cupcake stand!  Once the idea was born, it was easy to put together.  Using a scrap of red velvet, some stuffing and a piece of cardboard I made a little pillow for the bell to sit on.  The sleigh bell looks so sweet in the "display case." I love that it gets a special place of honor,  for I feel sure that this bell will be pulled out each Christmas for years and years to come.

  1. How awesome. I picked one up at an antique store last year and Santa left it in Ezra's stocking, telling him that only kids who have true Christmas spirit are honored with one. It too is his prize! I love little special things like that.
