We had an unfortunate incident happen in Cape Cod where Grace got a really bad sunburn (her first one in 11 years, but it was a doozy). Her back was a mess, but her face was practically untouched! I am convinced that it was due to the sunscreen that we use on our faces. For the past couple of years, we've used La Roche-Posay Anthelios Sunscreen Milk and we LOVE it. It's not a thick, goopy, turn your face white type of sunscreen at all. In fact, it melts right into your skin and disappears almost instantly. Both children can easily apply this sunscreen on themselves which also makes things easier.
Truth be told, I'm not sure why we have only used it on our faces. Maybe the cost? Maybe it seemed like a face sunscreen? I don't know how that started but perhaps we need to consider it for our bodies as well!
