Science invitations

It's that time of year again- Harris' birthday is next weekend! He requested a science themed party and we were happy to oblige! This years invitations were super easy to make because there was no printing or "designing" (I use that word loosely because I am no designer!).

Bryce had a notebook of lab paper which was the perfect size once it was cut in half. Since it was supposed to be lab "notes" I hand wrote each invitation with all of the party information.

I rolled up each invitation and stuck it inside a test tube that I found in the Martha Stewart Halloween section at Michael's. I found these labels and attached them to the top of the test tube.

Jewelry boxes were the perfect fit for the test tubes (again found at Michael's). I mailed some of the invitations and others I hand delivered, the boxes went through the mail just fine.

My favorite part of the whole invitation? The old Einstein and American Chemical Society postage stamps that I purchased on ebay. I don't know that anyone caught that little detail but
I love it!

  3. Oh my goodness, I did a science party for my son last year and have some pretty good ideas gathered from various blogs, etc. (that I'm sure you've checked). If you'd like me to send you some pictures or ideas, let me know your e-mail address. I was also thinking of sending you fairy party pictures (totally inspired by your fairy party) but I don't know how to attach them in a comment or send them directly without an e-mail address. I was the one who was asking about the toadstool cake...which turned out great, incidentally, so thanks for the advice and ideas.

  4. Oh yeah, and I love the Einstein stamps too. And, you are SO lucky that those test tubes were at Michael's for Halloween. Your timing is great. I probably picked those up 5 times during the Halloween season and thought, "If only they had these when I did my son's party."And then they went 40% off! I almost bought some just for future Halloween stuff too - so cute!

  7. This is fantastic! My Ezra has requested a science party for his 6th in June (yes he has already picked it out for next year) and I may have to steal this super cute idea. Love it! Can't wait to see how special you make the party.

  9. I am really enjoying the theme/design of your website. Do you ever run into any internet browser
compatibility problems? A handful of my blog visitors have complained about my website not working correctly in Explorer but
looks great in Safari. Do you have any solutions to help fix
    this issue?

  12. Today, I went to the beach front with my kids.

I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said "You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear." She placed the shell to her ear and
screamed. There was a hermit crab inside
and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back!
LoL I know this is completely off topic but I had to tell someone!
